My question is about whether or not virtual/online internships are considered valid employment during the post-completion OPT period.
I have received the EAD card and I have an unpaid internship offer at hand. Although the internship is directly related to my major Computer Science, it is a Virtual Internship - meaning, I don't have to work from an office. Rather, I have to work on the company's website from home and put in 25 hours/week.
Does anyone know if this counts as valid employment? I read that the U.S. Department of State has started offering Virtual Internships (http://www.state.gov/vsfs/) but I'm not sure if USCIS recognizes this type of internships during OPT.
