Need clarification to begin my employment
Hi all,
Currently, am on CPT status which gets over on May 8th 2015 and will be graduating On may 15th 2015. I have a full time job offer from another company to begin anytime, unfortunately I cannot take it immediately since am on CPT now and applied for OPT on March 25th 2015. The start date on OPT I-20 which is issued by my college is on May 18th.
Now my Question is, employer wants me to inform them a specific date from which I can join.
-- Since opt start date is May18th on my I-20 , Can I assume that I can start working from that day??
--Can I start working if I could see OPT status approved online and waiting to receive EAD card in hand??
--Can anyone suggest me the start date that I can mention to the employer??
Please help me on this issue. As I do not want to lose this opportunity and wants to tell them a specific date or atleast approx date that I can begin my employment.
