Transfer a project to a different employer while on OPT?
Hello all,
I had a quick query and would be much appreciated if I could get some help on this.
So, I am on an OPT Extension right now and am working for Employer X.
Pay-roll is run by employer X as I am on their W2.
Employer X has a client Y, where I am currently working on site as a contract employee.
The billing is on an hourly basis and Client Y pays my employer X for the hours I have put in.
Now my query is:
Employer Z has come into the picture offering me a better rate.
I like the current work I am doing at Client Y.
So, Employer Z has no issues with me continuing to work at Client Y, and is willing to give me a better rate than Employer X, and wants me to transfer onto their W2.
Is this possible? Can I switch employers while continuing to work with the same end client?
How does this work? Can someone guide me on this?
