Hi, I am on OPT and until last month I had a job. I have 60 unemployment days left on OPT. I am thinking about joining a consultancy and looking for a full time job simultaneously, as it will stop the unemployment days if I get an offer letter from the consultancy. The consultancy says if I leave them for another company before I land a project, the full time offer then the offer letter is VOID.
My question is if I send the consultancy offer letter to my School's student services and register in the OPT database, then leave the consultancy in 2 months will I be considered unemployed or employed in the past 2 months? Is there really any way that consultancy can void the offer letter once I have already registered? If they are able to do so then I will lose my OPT status as number of unemployment days will be over 90. Any feedback is appreciated!
