Hi Folks,
I recently applied for STEM extension close to the end of my 12 month initial OPT . I just now got an approval from USCIS , but have been provided with just 12 months instead of 24 months. ( ie. got approval from 12/2018 to 12/2019)...I was hoping I get till 12/2020 so that I get 2 chances for the H1 lottery. I am really disappointed with this. (Not to mention I had a tough time dealing with USCIS getting the card for my initial OPT. They lost the card while printing, made me run around in circles etc......)
Should I reach to USCIS to see if this was a mistake ? (Checked with my friends , they seem to have got 24 months).
If its not a mistake and part of USCIS decision, Can i apply for STEM extension for another 12 months close to expiry?
Any advice would be very helpful..Thanks in advance.
