OPT (Extension) - Changing Employers

I am currently working for a company on my OPT in my field of Engineering. My company has applied for my H1 Visa under the normal quota and I have yet not recieved my receipt number (I will be waiting till June 2nd). I understand that the company that hired me has to sign up with E-verify for my to get my OPT extended to 29 months total, which my company has decided to do. I wanted to know if I could change my employer after I get my extension or will I be stuck with the company that I'm with currently?

I think you can change employer while you are in the 17-month extension period provided you, your old employer, and new qualifying employer follow the requirements set forth by the rule. Read the law for details and talk to your school DSO.
