I am a recent graduate of a University in the US with an MBA. I am emailing you regarding a question on how to exit and re-enter the country. Here is the situation. I currently have an F1-Visa and OPT (not valid for re-entry without a valid visa) that allows me to stay and work here and are both valid until October 2008. I am currently working two jobs. One part time job, which ends in 4 weeks. In addtion to this, I recently started a company with my business partner. Actually, I am not yet officially part of the LLC, neither am I officially employed by this start-up.
I need to go back to Italy for a few weeks and I would like to know what to anticipate when I re-enter the country. Will my valid visa be sufficient for re-entry or, as I am no longer a student, will I be required to present a letter of employment or job offer to the immigration officers at the airport? Please advise.
Thank you for your time and attention
