OPT time line

Hi,

My sister is completing her MS in Dec 2010. When does her OPT period start?
Can she goto India in January for a month?
Appreciate any update on this.

OPT will start from whatever date she requests on her OPT application (within 60 days of last day of classes as per the school), if approved.
For traveling and returning it is better if she has a job offer in hand.
