  • Fail in one course - effect on STEM OPT extension

I have a F grade in one course in my masters. I retook a different class to fulfill graduation requirements.
Does anyone have experience applying for STEM-OPT with transcript? What explanations need to be provided about the transcript or fail grade in the course?

I accidentally deleted my answer, so I'll repeat it. If you are applying for STEM OPT with a certificate that contains a grade that wasn't awarded, the first thing you need is to provide an explanation that will help clarify the circumstances of the grade and demonstrate your ability to succeed in your field of study. For this, it's important to write a high-quality personal statement. When I needed it, I turned to the special service https://essays.studymoose.com/write-...onal-statement and asked to write my personal statement. You can also use the same one and after specifying all the necessary info about yourself and various details, ask a professional to prepare this statement for you.

I have never encountered this situation before. But I think it's best for you to contact the people in charge to get useful advice and not violate the regulations.

When applying for STEM OPT with an F grade, provide a concise explanation in your application:

        1. Mention the F grade and explain the circumstances.
        2. Highlight your commitment to improvement, evidenced by retaking a course and earning a higher grade.
        3. Emphasize your strong overall academic performance.
        4. Showcase your skills and qualifications for STEM employment.
        5. Consider including reference letters and a statement of purpose addressing your journey and commitment.

Keep your explanation clear and to the point to strengthen your application.
