Travelling to India on AP when priority date is current

Hello Experts,

I have travel plans to India (with a toddler) in July. My H1B has expired and I work in US on EAD. I have filed for GC as a dependent on my husband's GreenCard. Our priority date(Aug 2008) will be current in this July.
My question is - Is it safe for me and toddler(US Citizen) to travel to India on AP(Valid) while the GC priority date is current? or is it better to wait till GC is done and I get the card.
