Travelling on OPT and re-entering close to expiry
Hi, I am currently on OPT which expires on February 15th. I have already applied to STEM extension and the application is still pending. I have received form I-797 (receipt) for this application. I will be travelling outside US on January 15th and will be returning to US on February 14th. There are chances that I may not receive my STEM extension EAD card by the time of my re-entry.
My questions here:
1. When I re-enter US on Feb 14th with and EAD card which expires on Feb 15th and form I-797 for new EAD and all other valid documents, can I face some trouble during re-entry? Is it advisable to do this?
2. If this is not advisable, would returning 4-5 days earlier help? If I enter back on Feb 8th or 9th, for example, would it make any difference?
