Passport expiry and travel to India

I am an Indian National living and working in Qatar having valid Residence Permit valid till 2019. I am having Indian Passport valid till 30 Jan 2017. I want to travel on 12 Aug 2016 to India (no other country except my mother country India) and return back on 02 Sep 2016

By the time i land in Doha Qatar i will still have five months passport expiry time. My plan to come back and renew the passport and update my RP with new passport number.

Let me know any person had similar traveling experience and want to know this travel will not cause any legal/immigrationproblem
