Travel abroad / Passport validity

Hello
My wife is a US passport holder and is also an OCI. Her passport expires on Sept 5th 2017. We have a travel to India July 28th to Aug 22nd. Could there any issue at immigration due to the passport expiring in less than two weeks when we return? Please advise if it is advisable to renew prior to travel. Thank you.

According to my understanding and experience there will be a problem if you password validity expired. You should increase validity right now.
