Travel inquiry - Jet airways

Hi,
My H1-B visa has expired and I am travelling to Mumbai via Brussels (Jet Airways). I will be stamping in Mumbai. My route is JFK-Mumbai-JFK. I wanted to know if a transit (Schengen) visa is required for this travel. Can someone please let me know? During the transit (which is around 3-4 hours), I will be within the airport itself. Thanks
