Trip from NYC to San Antonio,Tx

Me and the wife will be making a quick vacation to see some family down south, she still has no valid ID from the states but her Foriegn passport which is valid. I have filed a petition for her AOS and we have already done an interview with uscis and are pending. She has done all the biometrics but has no EAD card, yet. Lawyer says we are safe for travel and so did the officer at the interview... should i be worried for this trip?
