There are many experienced trekkers who do the Everest Base Camp trek solo. It is a tea-house trek, which means there are little to no camping facilities here, and all trekkers stay in lodges or tea-houses for most days of the trek, so that is one thing that is taken care of. However, the Everest Base Camp trek is a long trek in quite extreme conditions, and it makes sense to go with experts who understand this terrain. This trek requires 6-7 hours of trekking each day, for about 14-15 days, and going with an operator offers many advantages that makes it easier.
