Traveling to India in STEM extension

I am looking to travel to India in Dec. I am currently on my STEM extension (Which started in Aug 2011). I have my F1 visa which I got stamped in 2007 valid till May 2012. I am planning to return in first week of January (leaving me 5 month visa validity). With my current status can I travel?

Also, what all documents will I be requiring (from searching online I figured out the following - EAD card, STEM OPT I-20, Job description letter from HR,Pay stubs)? Is anything more that is required? I would greatly appreciate any help in this regards.

Absolutely no problem with your travel plans. Documents are sufficient. I-20 signature should less than 1 year old.

Thank you for your reply. The documents I feel are sufficient, but my only concern was my F1-Visa is expiring in May 2012, so would the officer at POE be concerned about that. I am planning to apply for an H1-Visa next year. So want to travel to India once before all that hassle begins.

That is good thinking. Visa only needs to be valid on the day you travel to US.
