  • Direct Airside Transit Visa - London- British Airways

    Hi

I am traveling from NYC to BLR via London next week and I just got to know about the transit visa requirements. I graduated from college in Dec 2011 and was working on OPT. (F1 Visa is valid till Jun 2015 and OPT valid till the end of Jan 2013). My H1B change of status got approved in April 2012, so I am assuming my status has changed to H1B since Oct 1 2012 and is not F1 OPT anymore.

Is my F1 Visa still considered as a Valid US Visa for exemption from the DATV? Also Are you asked to show your documents only in the US before boarding or in London too? I am planning to get my H1B stamped when I am in India this time so I am sure that I have a valid visa for the return journey.

A quick reply would be really appreciated as I am going to India to get married and do not want any hold-ups thanks to Visas. Also it would be great if someone who has gone through this can share their experience.

    Thanks,
    Prathima

Yes, your F1 Visa is fine.
This is my opinion and not legal advice.
