My wife and I are returning to India for good and will be flying via Heathrow on September 25, 2013. We hold an Indian passport. Both of us have a valid Canadian work permit. And in my case, I even have a Canadian visitor visa, but her visa expired in September 2012 and she didn't need to renew it for staying in Canada.
We only have a 6 hour layover at Heathrow and have valid air tickets for further journey to India.
Given that my wife's Canada visa has expired (though she still has a valid work permit), will she wife require a UK transit visa? And if yes, is it worth the risk to go ahead without a visa? It appears that applying for a DATV online is a real pain (and of course an unnecessary cost).
Any suggestion or views from people with similar experience is greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Harish
