  • Applying for B2 in UK with Indian Passport, please help !

    Hello,

I’m Indian citizen studying in UK presently, planning to apply for B2 visa from UK , What I wanted to know is till when my visa will be valid if I get it approved from UK. Like from India you usually get it for 10years.

So in UK, What would be the validity of my visa ?

    Thanks in advance

It's impossible to say whether the U.S. Embassy in UK will give you a 10-year multiple entry visa or a visa valid only for a shorter period. It's up to discretion of the Embassy.

Thank you so much for your reply.

Could you also advice I already have one rejection, I have applied in May but that time I was working India, I came here in september. What do you suggest from where I should reapply UK or India ?

      Please advise

I can't advise either way. Generally, the higher the workload for a particular visa type, the greater percentage of denials. Also, visa applications made at a U.S. consulate will favor nationals of the country where the application is made.

On the other hand, some consulate locations are easier for visitor visa than the home country. For example Filipino nationals working in Middle East (UAE, etc.) find processing smoother for K1, spousal and B2 visas to the U.S. than in Manila (probably because of reduced Consulate workload and friendlier Consulate staff).

I’m so confused, I can either apply from London or India. What do you vote for ? Shall I apply from London or India, will the rejection in India would effect my this application if I apply in London ?

I would start by applying from where you are currently situated.
