I was wondering if someone could help me. I am a 22 year old British Citizen, I have been dating an American Citizen for 4 years and we recently got engaged. I have recently returned from my fourth time visiting, since returning home I am miserable. I cannot handle being away from him anymore. I am looking for information on getting him over to the UK. Any information would be appreciated, we got engaged in November, is there any way to get him living in the UK without us getting married right away?

get married instead
hi,
what's the problem with marrying him? It would solve a lot of problems, then he could come on a spouse visa and cut out a lot of red tape- been there and done that so I know the routine.
if you have known each other for that long, then I think it is time for marriage bells, don't you?

hi LynnAlexandria
looks like fiancee visa could be quite suitable in your case. you don't need to get married right away, though the period during which you have to register marriage is limited - 6 months. in some cases, this period can be extended, provided you have serious reasons for that.
other than fiancee visa you could look at other types of unmarried couples visas. also check other types of visas for your fiance. since he is american i am sure he can choose from broad selection of visas. i mean surely you 've got the choice.
check all types of visas on
