Is Transit visa required ?

Hi,
i have my visa confirmation (I797A) document with me and a student visa which expires in 2013 (even though i am out of school for more than a year, i dont have valid I20). I am going to India in December for getting my H1b visa stamped. I have booked my flight to Chennai from Houston via Heathrow airport. I will be returning the same way back to houston in 3 weeks. My question is, will i need a transit visa while transiting in Heathrow?

Do they check for I20 with the F1 visa?

According to the point 2 if i return to US within 6 month through UK, i am exempt from applying for transit.. so can i use this point in while transiting?

They don't care about your current status in US. All they need to see is a valid Visa, which you have (F1). You don't need a DATV.

Thanks for the quick response.. I also have a valid Canadian business visitor Visa expiring on sep 2012, hope this will help if they dont accept my F1.

Transit Visa thru UK

I will be travelling to India for my first H1-B Stamping on the passport. I have the H1-B approval

I came on US in September 2010 on L1-B Visa (with different company)
and then I had the Change of Status to H1 with the current company.
That L1 visa is still valid till mid 2013 and the H1 Approval notice is valid mid 2014

I will be flying to India through BA - UK as stopover,
Do I need to do have the direct airside transit Visa for UK ?
Is my L1 Visa which has expiry date of mid 2013 still considered valid (now that I have H1 status)?

Hi... I need some clarification are you citizen of some other or from that country ? If the citizen of other country must need the transit visa to travel in British air ports. The citizen of same country certainly they dont need the transit visa they have to carry direct airside transit visa.
