    Hi,

I'm a British citizen and have a US wife. Her and I were married last February in the Cayman Islands. I've visited her now 10 times since we met in 2002, and she's about to have her first visit in April this year. We've not been looking too hard at immigration either way, as we've both been trying to get ourselves sorted financially, finishing education and what not.

I'm wondering if anybody can give some advice on timescales I might expect to meet if I want her to move here. Things are getting really difficult for the both of us, as many I'm sure can appreciate. Where is the best place to start?

    Thanks

    Terry

    Hello Terry

Your wife needs to apply for a Spouse Visa from the US. She needs to check on the procedures how to do that.
You can apply in a number of ways, for example by post, by courier, in person and online. The visa section will tell you about the ways in which you can apply.

As far as I know the settlement visas are processed really quickly in the states, but you do need to prepare the application properly. Apart from submitting the application itself you need to provide all the required supporting documents or evidence. that;s what might take up some of your time. the rest should be processed quite quickly as i've said.

when visa is granted your wife will get a spose visa for 2 years.

    i hope this helps.

    good luck.
