UK Transit Visa

I am tarvelling from USA to India via british airways with a stopover in switzerland for few days .
do i need to transit visa in UK for this travel

i have valid US visa and i guess i dont dont need transit visa between usa to india ,
but because i have a stopver in switzerland i am wondering if there is any need


trip plan is
NYC to Geneva via UK(just transit ..same airport)
Geneva to INDIA via UK(just transit ..same airport)

I am guessing you took care of the Switzerland visa stuff as you mention about a stopover for few days. If you have a valid US visa, you do not require a UK direct airside transit visa. But if the trip requires you to change airports, then a visa is needed for UK.
