My friend is coming to visit me in the UK and we have all of the documents ready.
Well that's what we thought however we've just seen that they all need to be in English - translated by a certified professional, rather than by us.
This is proving to be very expensive. We have around 12 pages of documents and online quotes are looking to start from £30 per page!! We have already paid $425 for a fast processing visa and she is only coming for 10 days!
Does anyone have any knowledge here? As you can imagine they are very sneaky and there are further fees to get any case-specific information. I am at the point now where I am close to paying for someone to help us but just before doing this can anyone help?
This honestly seems completely ludicrous, especially having to translate all of the documents. So many questions raised here. How does someone from a poorer country actually afford to come to England lol. Costs so far...
$800 flight
$425 visa (granted we paid extra for fast processing)
$360 for translated documents

Please help if you can. I have spoken to another Peruvian who said she has worked here twice on a 6-month visa and did not have to submit any translated documents however maybe things have changed since she applied.
