My friend is a post-doctorate scholar in Belgium (city: Louvain-la-Neuve).
He is NOT a student. He is on "VISA - D for bursary of fellowship". He
does not hold a work permit but has a residence permit (such visas are
called residence visa). He is paid a fellowship (scholarship) by a
University (University Catholique de Louvain). His one year
post-doctorate ends in August 31, 2005. He wants to take his wife on a
dependent resident visa (VISA - D) to Belgium now till Aug 05. She
lives in Orissa (Berhampur).
I had the following questions
1- Where can she apply for VISA? (Is there a consulate in Calcutta and
can one apply there? or are there some regional restrictions?)
2- How long does it take to get the VISA? (same day, after 2 days etc.)
3- Is personal appearance required?
4- What are the documents needed?
5- What is the general process involved ?
Thanks
