UK Direct Airside Transit Visa

Hello,
Has anybody living in the US got the UK Direct Airside Transit Visa recently? I have applied for one online, now I need to mail the necessary documents to the consulate in NY. The list of documents to send does not include the passport. Nowhere do they mention mailing in the passport.

I just wanted to confirm from somebody who has got the visa that the Direct Airside Transit Visa is indeed stamped on the passport.
