Do i need UK Direct Air TRansit Visa or Transit visa?

Hello,

I am an international student on F1 visa in USA.

I have booked my tickets to India through British Airways and unfortunately I have a stop at London Heathrow Airport. My halt is for 1 hr 15 minutes (Terminal 5).

I wanted to know whether I need to apply for UK DATV or Transit Visa??

I am really confused. I am traveling to India on December 8.

What exactly does valid visa (in the datv exemption its mentioned u need to have valid US visa )mean? Everyone who enters USA has a valid visa. No one can travel without valid visa.

Plz help me out.... Thanx a ton in advance to everyone.

If you have a valid VISA stamped on your passport you do not need DATV.

my US F1 visa expiration date is in 2014..

uk transit visa required?

hello

my husband and i were on J category visa. last month he got H1-B visa & i am on H4 visa. we are travelling to india NOV end. we ve valid new I-94 & I-797A, stating our H visa status, but our passports reflect our old visas.
we are going to india for the stamping of H visas. we are flying by british airways and ve a layover of approx 3hrs at heathrow. do we require transit visas at UK? please guide

If your previous Visas have not expired, you do not need a transit Visa.

my previous visa has expired n i am going to india for my new visa stamping.
so i guess i wil have to apply for the DATV.
any idea how much time it takes for the DATV to process??

Check UK embassy/consulate's website near you. I would 2 weeks should be enough.
