I need help with my UK passport application. I have received my naturalisation and now I'm applying for passport. In my Indian passport, my name is given name: "name surname" and surname: blank
In other words both name and surname are in my given name field and the surname field is blank.
When applying for passport I had to put my name in the name field and surname in the surname field. I got an email saying that my name in Indian passport needs to match name given in Passport application and UK Natualisation certificate. Even though I explained my issue they are still asking for a name change on my indian passport.
To be clear, there is no change in name, it is just the way the name is placed in the 'name' and 'surname' fields.
Is it possible to change name on the Indian passport after I have naturalised as a UK citizen? Can I instead not ask the passport authority to put my name surname on the same field in the UK passport?
