Thank you for this great website; I'm new here, and I will appreciate it a lot if you can help me answering the following questions:
I've won the DV 2013 Lottery and have been issued an Immigration Visa.
I have paid the Immigration fee using online payment method.
My flight to JFK is on May 8th, so what should expect after my first landing?
1. Do I have to apply for the SSN by myself? If yes, please specify the process I need to follow in details.
2. Do I have to do biometrics after my first landing? It yes, please specify the process I need to follow in details.
3. Do I have to file any other forms to complete my Green Card process? If yes, please specify in details: what is the form(s), where, when, and how can I file it?
4. Is there any additional fee I need to pay for? If yes, please specify the process I need to follow in details.
5. Can I travel to another US state before receiving my Green Card and SSN? If yes, please explain all required forms or documents I will need to be able to travel if there is any? would this delay in any way GC receiving?
6. Can I change the address that I have already provided in my Visa application? If yes, please explain how.
7. My plan for now is to pick my Green Card, and get back to my country to finish my Master study before moving permanently to the US. The expected duration to gain my Master is 9-12 months, but there is a chance that it may take more than one year. In order to do that, what forms do I need to file so it does not affect my Green Card status? Please specify in details.
8. What is the expected duration to receive my Green card and SSN?
