Would like to adopt my little sister
So here is my story. I finally got my green card, valid for ten years. My husband who is a U.S citizen and I would like to adopt my little sister.
She is 14 years old, she has been living with us for the past two years and half.
She is from the Ivory Coast (my country of Citizenship).
She is entered the U.S on a visitor visa, and overstayed.
Is it even possible that we adopt her without going back home? It's only two years before she turns 16 years old and I heard that once she passes this age, it would be too complicated to adopt her.
Any constructive input would be greatly appreciated.
On another note, we are thinking about sponsoring my parents (mom and dad) to be permanent residents as well. Is that possible?
