  • DV2015 selectee -- AOS questions

    Hello,

I am a F1 student residing in Los Angeles and I have been selected for the DV2015 lottery... I have some questions still bothering me even if I spoke to KCC and USCIS on the phone, plus a couple local immigration lawyers. I need some extra reassurance.

I understand that this year is a requirement for every applicant (whether going through consular process or uscis) to fill out the online form DS-260. My questions about this are, since I selected I want to take my interview in the US, when I submit the DS260 my forms will be transferred to USCIS, right? Do I need to check with USCIS if I am eligible to adjust status first? I called them about it and they said I am fine filing for adjustment, but did not ask me any case-specific questions... I only said I was on a F1 visa.
If I just submit the DS160 and my case goes to USCIS, it is my understanding that I won't receive any more notifications, is this correct? I only have to wait until my number becomes current?
Oh there is one more question about this, the adjustement fee... when does it need to be paid? When you submit the DS260 or when it gets closer to the interview date or when the number becomes current?
Thanks so much! But I am freaking out and it is confusing to get clear answers...

Oh and since I am here, I also want to ask when do you think I will get an interview based on my number 2015EU00019ZZZ ?

    Thanks so much in advance!

    dv lottery

i got selected for dv lottery 2014, my number is so high up that it's called in September, your number is lower you should go to http://travel.state.gov/contenthttps...arch-2014.html
it's the state website that publishes each month the cut off for that month based on ur number it was called in march this year but every year is different so you should go on google type visa bulletin and you can check for your region which is europe when was the cut off for different years. i hired a lawyer just to be safe and she filed all my paper work and made sure i had everything. so not sure which form we filed online, I am just anxious at this point to get an interview date and that my paperwork will be filed ontime....I think you can file those forms when your number become available but they usually announced the next month number by the 10 th of the previous month don't know if it makes senses. let say on july 10th the publish the cut off number for the month of august and so forth.my lawyer paid 1070 for adjustment fee when she sent paperworks so the form, medical exam, all i-20 and all. she charged about 500 just for filing but she is not going to come to interview with me so I think a lawyer or a legal adviser will answer most of you questions..good luck
