Hello,
If a child is adopted abroad (locally, not though international adoption) is there any way to waive the requirement of two years legal and physical custody in the country of adoption by the adopted parent in the case of a single parent? The main reason would be undue hardship for the parent (a US citizen) who may lose job in the US due to two years absence and all source of income with it.
If there is absolutely no waiver, is it possble to bring the child to the US on a visitor visa during those two years? if the child came and overstayed its visa would it be able to adjust status later?
Thanks!
