Adopt from India

Hi,
I recently got Naturalized. I would like to adopt a baby from India. Could anyone please let me know the procedure or process or good adoptio agencies to work with ? Also, I have the below questions.

1. How long it would take for 1-800 approval ?
2. Can I start working with adoption agencies in India before 1-800 gets approved ?
3. How long will it take to get visa for the baby once i-800 is approved and I get a valid Indian passport for the baby ?

Could anyone who have adopted give me more details on this ? That would help me a lot to start with as this seems to be a long process.
