Expecting baby through a Surrogacy

Hello,

We are expecting baby through a surrogacy procedure , the surrogate is in India and the procedure is through a fertility clinic in Mumbai. The baby is due on August 29th. We are US citizens. Please advise on the process needed to bring our baby back to US. .

You need to get the birth certificate for the child with both of you listed as the parents.

Then approach the U.S. embassy/consulate there and report the birth of US citizen abroad. They will give you US passport for the baby.

Use that to bring baby to the US.
