I am with F-1 Visa but wanted to ask Asylum
Hi everybody,
I have been in Virginia for almost six months studying in one college and my status was Ok. Now I transferred to another University and I my status is till Ok and I am eligible to study in USA, because I am a full time student.
But ,in my country, the situation is not good to return back after I finish studying my Masters in Computer Science. Because of that I am really worried what to do next. The college I am attending now will allow me to study for 8 months and will allow us to work fully employed with the right salary for 2 years. (That is CPT) After that I can work for one year (This one is, I think, OPT). I know that, as a software engineer, I have a lot of opportunity to stay in US with H1 Visa after I complete my OPT.
The problem is, if I no company is going to employee me, I have to go back to my country, which will ruin my life. So I planned to ask asylum while I am studying. Do you think it is possible for me to learn and ask asylum at the same time? What is the probability of the US gov't will grant me or deny me asylum?What is the disadvantage if I am denied? I heard that asylum is confidential and some of them say it will be written in your history even if you are denied. I don't know which one to believe. If there is a great chance of getting green card after my OPT, I will also wait for that. But it is so scary guys.
Please help, I have a knowledge and a dream which I can achieve it in USA, rather than going back to my country and live in hell. Please help me.
