P-3 Visa status on resignation

My brother was on P-3 visa which has been stamped for validity up to December 31, 2013. He was sponsored by a cultural center. When he gave three months notice for resignation, but he was relieved by the center immediately without any reason and they have advised USCIS also of the same. In as much as he has a valid visa up to 31st December, 2013, will the sudden action of the center which had sponsored him in relieving him affect his status? Is he deemed to be in status or out of status now?
