Hi,
I'm french and my husband is canadian artist, we live in Montreal, Canada for now.
He got an O-1 US visa 2 years ago, went to live in NY for a year and came back for us to do the papers for an EB-1 green card together (not based on an employer)
In February 28th the USCIS received our files and submission for the I-140 part. We officially started all the process with a lawyer in October 2013.
September 24th, they shipped the approval to the department state of visa. In the meanwhile we received a copy of the confirmation by email.
I just sent all our original documents this morning to the lawyer. As she's not really "in a hurry" or concerned as much as us by our case, my questions are :
- she is currently waiting for an email from the visa center so she can send them the originals.
- How long does it still take to get the interview date and the green card in hands ?
- is there a way to speed up the process somehow ?
Thank you so much.
