  • b1 to b1/b2 visa

    hello
i want to know one thing. i have filled the form ds 160 at new delhi for b1 visa as the people at the place in USA where i am going for 3 months (going for first time to US) told me to get a b1 business visa (they will give an appointment letter). now i have applied for a b1/b2 visa for my wife who will be with me for 2 months. Should i also apply for a b1/b2 visa or b1 is good enough? my concerns are whether i will be able to roam around in US for tourism purposes and next time if i visit US will i require a B2 visa for tourism? Is it possible that the embassy gives a b1/b2 visa to me when i have applied for a b1 visa only?
    thanks

Usually they give you a B1/B2 visa. But your status B1 or B2 will be stamped at entry depending on what you say
    your purpose is.

You can do tourist activity on a Business( B1) status but you cannot do business on tourist status (B2).

Thank you for the information... I am applying for a b1 visa and my wife a b1/b2. Can that be an issue at the embassy?

        No. Not an issue.
Decision will be made on what you will verbally say your purpose is , not what you filled on DS 160.

relative name in ds 160 for b1 visa

Thank you. I have mentioned the name of my cousin and her address in the US on the ds 160 form. Can that be an issue for applying for the b1 visa?

            Urgent please

I want to make some changes in ds 160..
Problem is I have already submitted the form but have not paid the visa fee yet... Can I fill a new form again? Do they keep a record?
