B1 Visa for attending a NASA competition.

Hi,
I'm a undergrad studying in a university in Bangladesh. I'm part of the university team which is going to NASA Lunabotics Competion'13 in May 20-24. Its a robotics competition held every year. Competitors fund themselves, but podium team get some prize money.

I'm confused whether I should apply for B1 visa or B2 visa. Can anyone kindly clarify for which visa would I be qualified? I'm on tight schedule and budget, so I might not be able to attempt second time if I get refused in the first time.

The visa they give is combined B1/B2.

It is something not for you to worry about.
Just Opt for B1 on DS 160.

Focus on two main things;

Your ties to India ( family, student enrolment)
Funding source ( If funding is by Parents , show good income )

I am sure you meant Bangladesh. Unless of course, although a remote possibility, the OP is an Indian in Bangladesh.
