  • B1 for my US LLC

    Hello,
    during my last travel in US I started a LLC company and opened a bank account.
    Business will be online (ecommerce website) managed from my country. The purpose is to import goods into US.
    Now I need to go again to US to find potential partners and I need to ask for B1 visa.
    In my country I’m not employed so I don’t have salary.
    Could be this a potential risk / rejection for my interview ?
    I’m self employed with this my new LLC but the business is not started yet.

    Thanks

    For a B1/B2 the officer must see your JOB + INCOME ties to India so you will return.
    It is a very vital issue.

    No job/ no income in India, they will never give you a visa.

    By the way, how did you get the last visa ?

      Thank you for your reply, I’m not Indian, I’m Italian and I live in Italy.

      I never got previous visa.
      I went there for pleasure (with ESTA). A tourist is permitted to start a LLC and open a bank account in US but cannot work or having incomes.

      I can show the officer only my business plan and what ties me to my country.
      My job now is this new starting project and my purpose is to import into US italian handmade goods.

      I have suppliers here in Italy and because of this I need to come back and manage their work from here, but I think it isn’t strong enough for a visa, isn’t it ?

        Ok, I am sorry. It is an Indian website and most posters are Indian, so my mistake.

        Here is a very important thing;
        If your B1/B2 is denied , you will not be able to use your VWP/ESTA either.
        This is clearly mentioned on the US state dept website travel.state.gov

        For a B1, they will want to see a stable job/business with strong income in italy to make sure you will return.
        Suppliers is not a good reason.

        Why can't you do this on a 90 day VWP? The only difference between a VWP and a B1 is longer duration and ability to change status for B1.
        You won't be allowed to work on B1 either.

            You can incorporate while on a B1 but to manage it;
            * you have to be either on L1 or
            * hire someone in US to manage it.

              B1 for my US LLC

              A US business can be started by non-US residents you cannot work for your US . Managing an LLC from outside the US is allowed .
