I was interviewed on May 30th and my H1B visa was issued on July 5th. Although the status on the chennai consulate website still says "Pending Process", the US department of state website clearly said ISSUED and I received an email too. Thanks to the forum for the stats.

Background: Full time faculty at a state university. Previously I had B1/B2 and F1 visas. I was surprised to receive a 221 G, when no extra documents were asked.
