COS from H1B to B2 visa

Dear Friends:

My H1B 6th year max is on Sep 2014.My Priority date is Oct 31, 2013. IT is very unlikely my PERM will get approved within this time as it takes an average of 8 months for PERM applications to get approved. I am now planning to change to B2 visa sometimes during April/May 2014. My questions are:

1. How long can someone stay in B2 visa within US if COS from H1B to B2 is approved.
2. Again is it easy to come back to H1B from B2 visa.
3. How much time it takes for COS from H1B to B2 visa.

One should start the PERM more than one year before 6th year completion to avoid such situations.
1. No one can predict, it will depend upon the I94 USCIS gives you if the approve the COS. Max is generally 6 Months.
2. Its not easy.
3. No one can predict, I believe there is no premium processing for it so can take 3-6 Months.
