  • Bank account statement doubt

I am planning to apply for my b1/b2 visa next month. I have my money deposited in a co-operative society which works in a similar way as a bank. The balance is well maintained at around 6 lakh. Is it enough that i show the account statement of the society or should i transfer the amount to a nationalized bank?

They do not care for any bank balances because people can build them up by borrowing .

Most important thing is your income. And you must take proof of that.
( salary slip, tax returns, )

Not necessarily. These days the trend is to decide without looking at any documents. But some officers can ask to look at proof of your income.
If your bank statement shows regular credits of your salary or business income,
it can be useful. But keep a 6 month statement with you anyways.
