  • Application for B1 visa in Singapore - visit pass

    Hi ,

I am an Indian National in Singapore on visit pass for attending business meetings for my company in Singapore. I have recently moved to India Permanently . I had a work permit in Singapore last year but moved to India due to personal reasons and working for Indian branch of same company .
Now I have come to SG temporarily for 2 months to close few deals with our clients.

My query to experts here is, can I apply for a B1 visa here at SG since my company requires me to travel to US in Feb for 1 week duration purely for client meetings.
After the travel to US, I am required to come back to SG and again go to Bangkok for business reasons.
I have the invitation letter from my company branch in US(Will this help?)

I do have payslips of my company for past 3 months, but do not have a work permit (EP) with me.

If I am permitted to apply, what are my chances of approval? What unusual questions I may encounter due to my case here?

Also what all documents can I show as supporting documents to strengthen my case.

Normally, US consular posts don't approve nonimmigrant (B1/B2) visas to the U.S. for non-local nationals unless they have Work visas or resident status in the country from which applying (Singapore).

There are exceptions to this, as with Iranians who apply for visas to the U.S. outside of Iran, and North Koreans, since there are no U.S. consular posts in those two countries. Other exceptions might also apply.
