  • Chance of getting B1/B2 visa with misdemeanor record

In 2010 I had J1 visa and was arested for shoplifting in CA(misdemeanor, about 100$). Served five-day sentence and was released.
Now I'm applying for B1/B2 visa to make a business trip from my company. I pointed that was arrested and sorry for this offense in my application. I didn't break law anymore. Since that time I've visited 3 other contries as tourist.
Does anybody know or ever faced such situation?
Will I have a chance of getting B1/B2 visa? How can my offence affect the result?

A misdemeanor record does not automatically result in a denial. You must admit this situation clearly to officer though - do not cover the fact as they already know this fact through SEVIS - ICE databases that interact with each other.
