  • B2 Details - requires details of rejections

    Hi Team,

I am applying for B2 tourist visa while filling out the online DS160 form I am being asked if I was rejected any US visa in past?
To tell about my past with US embassy, I attempted for a B1 Visa in 2004 April but due to inadequate documents I was not given one. The visa officer gave my passport back after that I never attempted again. I am not sure if I was rejected I don’t see any marking on my passport which says rejected? just for one seal which says “documents accepted”. So should I consider this as a rejection? And mention this on DS160 for B2 Tourist visa? Can someone please tell me how a rejected of B1/B2 US visa looks? Please help.

Yes your visa request was rejected at that time. You would have to answer Yes to this question.

If you visit the consulate for visa stamping and didnt get it stamped in the passport it means it was rejected. They dont issue a "rejected visa".

This is my opinion not legal advice.

Answering Form I-485 (Application to register Permanent Residence or Adjust Status

      Hello Team,

I have a two-year tourist visa that would expire September of this year. I am currently now in States and am planning to file Form I-485. Previously, I have also applied form I-130 and is now for final decision (waiting for the visa). My question is what will I answer in the information ask in Form I-485:
Have you ever applied for permanent resident status in the U.S.? IS IT YES OR NO?
      Thank you.
