I applied for a B1 visa 100 days ago to participate and present a paper in a conference in Boston. The conference was last week and I missed it due to the delay in admin. processing. Now I got a B1/B2 visa without annotation. My question is whether I will be in trouble at the port of entry if I arrange a two-week trip to the US for only a tourist purpose and whether they will ask me what the hell you are doing here when your conference was last week(even if my visa application was on B1 and I got B1/B2 without annotations.) Please help me in this matter as I would like to arrange my trip as soon as I got the answer. Many thanks

what is the validity of your visa ( eg is it a one year, 5 yr or a 10 yr visa? -

well, I would not advise you to travel on this visa. The reason is granting a short 3 month visa shows that they want it to be used for the specific purpose you applied. Also, the officers at entry have access to your DS160.
If you apply next time, you will have an obvious genuine reason for not going and you will be in safe territory.Comment
