My boyfriend lives in Slovenia and has visited the united states many times on his visa waiver. He has no criminal record and has never over stayed. Recently he applyed for a B1 visa for volunteering at a research center we both work with in florida. He asked for 18 months and provided all of the paperwork from the organization and also that he owns a home in Slovenia. He was denied due not being able to provide sufficent evidence that he would return. We own a house in nj together and we are closing on ten condos in florida sept 1st by the research center we both work for, to rent to the people who visit from around the world. Now that he was denied for his B1 visa he is no longer eligable for his waiver. We have known each other for years through the work we o and we have dated for a year and a half and had spoken of getting married at some point in the future, but with no set date or rush to it as everything was quite fine with us visiting back and forth frequently. Would applying for a B2 visa be effective? And if there were a denial of a B@ on top of a B1 would it affect us getting married at some point in the future? We are looking for as rapid of a visa as possible at this point so that we can take care of somethings in regards to the investments, and he has no intention of overstaying.
