My Father's name having an extra letter at the end in my passport

Hi Folks

I'm working in a software company, where they are willing to process a business visa for me in next couple of months. And I have a problem with my passport where my father's name has an extra letter at the end.

Actual Name - Devanandam Gujje
Printed on Passport - Devanandam Gujjem

I have gone through many posts in the forums where similar kind of problem exists but found that they are very old posts.

Please suggest whether an affidavit is sufficient stating both the names belongs to one and same person? or I need to apply for a reissue of passport?
